Hearing that you have metastatic breast cancer (MBC) can feel overwhelming. Working together with your doctor may help you understand your treatment options.
If HER2* positive (HER2+) breast cancer has spread to other parts of the body (metastasized), PERJETA may be given in combination with Herceptin® (trastuzumab) and a type of chemotherapy called docetaxel. This will be given to you if you have not received anti-HER2 therapy or chemotherapy for metastatic breast cancer (first line).
*HER2 stands for human epidermal growth factor receptor 2. The results from a HER2 test are needed to know if your breast cancer is HER2+.
